Zhejiang Tongfu Temake Co., Ltd., established in 2000 and headquartered in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province, is a national high-tech enterprise specializing in the R&D and manufacturing of stainless steel and titanium vessels. The company owns core brands such as TOMIC and Shui Mo Wang (Water King), and has received numerous international accolades, including the German Design Award. It has also participated in formulating the industry standard for “Stainless Steel Vacuum Travel Jugs.”

The company’s main products include vacuum-insulated bottles and titanium cups. Its titanium cup series utilizes aerospace-grade materials, making them 30% lighter than conventional products while offering 20% greater capacity. As the official designated supplier of drinkware for both the G20 Summit and the Hangzhou Asian Games, the company has delivered over 3 million units to these major events combined.

Project Objectives

To enhance management standardization and improve both the efficiency and accuracy of product design, the company has introduced the SIPM/PLM system to achieve digitalized management of product design data. Through the implementation of the SIPM/PLM project, the following objectives will be accomplished:

Establish a clear and comprehensive product portfolio：Leverage 3D CAD integration to automatically extract parts, BOMs, and drawings directly into the PLM system.
Build an integrated, BOM-centric product management model to enable precise association and management of technical documentation:Design data in PLM serves as the single source of truth, eliminating offline handoffs.Standardize part numbering rules and material descriptions to prevent “one code for multiple items” and control “one item with multiple codes.”Establish a standardized design library to increase part reuse and standardization.

Create an integrated process engineering platform, enabling associative design of routing, material quotas, process documents, and foundational process data with products—thereby improving process design efficiency.

Standardize and institutionalize the engineering change management process, ensuring full traceability of all technical data changes.

Seamlessly connect enterprise information flows to enable effective data exchange between systems:Integrate technical data with the ERP system.Ensure that 100% of material and BOM data is transmitted from PLM to ERP, eliminating manual or offline transfers.

After jointly reviewing Tongfu's design business processes, the project teams from both sides unified and integrated modules including project management, product design management, document and drawing management, change management, ERP interface integration, Feishu interface integration, 3D software interfaces, standardization management, and coding management.

Basic Data Management

Through the management of various foundational databases in the Sipu PLM system, the company has significantly enhanced the standardization of its product design foundational libraries. The PLM platform enables self-service material numbering by designers, enforces standardized and system-embedded coding rules for orderly management, and provides a unified platform for managing design and R&D knowledge bases, document templates, workflow designs, and related assets.

Coding Management:The implementation of SIPM/PLM has established a material and technical document coding scheme aligned with the company’s management requirements. Automatic code generation within SIPM/PLM ensures a unique code for each item—achieving “one item, one code.”

Document Templates:Leveraging the standardization management module in SIPM/PLM, the company has established a centralized document template library. This enables unified and standardized management of files and drawing templates. During design, Excel and Word documents can be created directly by pulling templates from this library.

Process Management:Using the standardization management module in SIPM/PLM, the company has categorized workflows based on departmental business differences and standardized corresponding approval and review processes according to specific business management objects.

Business Data Management

Product Management：Implemented classified and centralized product management, providing the R&D department with a unified platform for product data management.
Design BOM Management:Established a BOM-centric approach to unify the association and management of components, drawings, and related documents.

Drawing and Document Management

Design Software Interface Management：Through integrated design software interfaces, the business data flow between 3D design software and the PLM system has been fully connected,enabling seamless synchronization of design data between the design tools and the PLM system.
