Project Background
Ningbo Ditel Technology Co., Ltd. was established in 2010 and currently has three wholly-owned subsidiaries: Ditel (Zhejiang) Communication Technology Co., Ltd., Jexin (Zhejiang) Communication Technology Co., Ltd., and Zhejiang Zeyang Wangyun Technology Co., Ltd. The company has consistently focused on research and development in high-gain satellite antennas and satellite signal servo tracking technologies. It is dedicated to the design, R&D, manufacturing, and sales of satellite communication equipment for vehicles, vessels, and aircraft, providing comprehensive communication solutions—including internet access, emergency communications, data transmission, and system integration—to customers across maritime, land, and airborne domains. Its user base spans Asia, Oceania, Africa, Europe, the Americas, and regions across the Pacific, Indian, and Atlantic Oceans.
Project Objectives
Through the implementation of the SIPM/PLM project, the following objectives will be achieved:
End-to-End Project Lifecycle Management: Apply systematic methods, tools, and processes to plan, organize, coordinate, control, and monitor the entire project lifecycle, ensuring efficient and high-quality achievement of project goals.
Consistency and Integration of Design Data: Resolve inconsistencies between electronic and paper-based data, and achieve integrated application across three key structures: 3D models, 2D drawings, and electronic designs.
Knowledge Sharing and Experience Database: Establish a centralized repository for knowledge sharing and accumulated engineering experience.
100% System-Controlled Design Changes: Ensure that all design changes are fully managed and tracked within the system.
Enhanced Design Standardization: Increase the standardization rate of design processes and outputs.
Standardized R&D Deliverables and Component Libraries: Unify the standards for design output documentation across the R&D center, establish standardized component/part libraries, and promote R&D projects in a structured and standardized manner.
Integrated Electronics Design Management Platform: Build an electronics design management platform tightly integrated with the PLM system to enhance the efficiency and standardization of electronics design and management. This will also realize the PLM system’s vision of unified mechanical, electrical, and software (Mech-Elec-Soft) co-design, enabling more efficient and agile product management.
Software Design and Version Release Management: Implement robust software version control and release management to enable rapid releases, quick responses, agile change handling, and clear traceability of software objects.
System Functions
Project Management:
Projects are managed directly within the PLM system, with clearly defined milestones, a well-structured timeline, and project documents systematically categorized for standardized management.
Project progress can be monitored in real time through the system, enabling managers to clearly track status, assign accountability, and facilitate efficient oversight.
Project anomalies and issues can also be tracked directly within the system—including issue reporting, assignment of responsible personnel, and monitoring of resolution progress. Project requirements and patent documents are linked directly to the relevant projects, ensuring comprehensive and systematic management.

Electronics Design Management:Establish an electronics design management platform that tightly integrates electronics design activities with the PLM system, enhancing design efficiency and reinforcing standardization in both electronics design and its management. This implementation fully realizes the PLM system’s vision of integrated mechanical, electrical, and software (Mech-Elec-Soft) co-design, enabling more efficient and agile product management across the company.

Electronic Design Interface Management: Achieve effective integration between the PLM system and the electronic design system. After extracting the schematic designed in the electronic design software via the PLM system's electronic design interface, upload the schematic and PCB layout to the system. After going through the system process for signature approval, a signed PDF version of the drawing file will be generated.

Summary
Through the successful implementation of this PLM project, Ningbo Ditel has significantly enhanced its product management capabilities and improved the overall efficiency and quality of its design and R&D processes. By integrating structural design software with the PLM system, the company has ensured the standardization and consistency of product design data. This initiative has progressively increased both product management efficiency and R&D productivity, improved design quality, and reduced product development costs. Data confidentiality has also been strengthened.Ningbo Ditel has now achieved fully centralized, online management across the entire design process—from requirements, projects, and products to design, materials, drawings, and documents—enabling designers to quickly access and retrieve data, thereby substantially boosting their work efficiency. With the continued application of these modules, the PLM system will evolve into a unified collaborative management platform spanning all departments across the company.
